Ministry
I serve in ministry with a focus on Christian education, justice, and creation care. I was installed as Deacon of Christian Education & Justice at The Great Awakening UCC in Portsmouth under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Joy Carrington. I bring scripture, service, and stewardship into everyday practice and invite others to do the same.
Ministry Involvement
Deacon of Christian Education and Justice, The Great Awakening UCC
I help plan and lead faith formation that centers justice and equips people to live their covenants. I focus on curriculum, small‑group formation, and programs that connect worship with concrete acts of care for neighbor and creation. Tuesdays at 6:30 PM, I co‑lead, with Pastor Dr. Joy Carrington, a weekly Bible study that blends scripture, reflection, and practical application. We create a welcoming space for questions, honest conversation, and mutual support.
Member, Creation Justice Ministry of Portsmouth
Under the leadership of Dr. Garry Harris and Rev. Dr. Mark Whitaker of New Bethel Baptist Church, I participate in interfaith efforts to promote creation care and environmental stewardship. We work across congregations to build programs that help communities act on climate and ecological concerns in ways that center equity and care.
Education and Formation
I am in the application process for Master of Divinity programs as part of my preparation for ordination in the United Church of Christ.
I am pursuing theological formation because I want my ministry to be both theologically grounded and practically faithful. My formation informs the Bible study series I lead, the educational materials I develop, and the pastoral care I offer in congregational and community settings.
